Homefront for PC will have 3d support

The PC version of forthcoming THQ shooter Homefront will have full 3D support and a number of exclusive features, developer Digital Extremes has revealed.

According to a post on the game's official site, the PC version gets a number of features over and above its console brethren.

Firstly, you'll be able to control vehicles from both a first and third person perspective. Not only that, but helicopters have additional control options for those looking for a more "sim-like" experience. There will be three settings to choose from: ace, veteran and rookie.

Extra vehicle abilities have been added for co-pilots, such as a Recon function to the Scout heli, and joystick control is supported for all vehicles.

If that all sounds a little complicated, Digital Extremes has added a new Practice Mode to help players get to grips with the more nuanced vehicle controls outside the pressure of a live match.

The PC game also gets a squad management system, with squad-based VOIP, as well as full Clan Support. You can also expect more post-match statistics tracked compared to console versions.

Multiplayer match recording and LAN support are included, and there will be a Dedicated Server Browser Executable available within two weeks of launch so users can set up private servers.

PC gamers hoping to play in 3D will no doubt also be pleased to hear that the title supports NVidia 3D Vision.

Finally, Digital Extremes has released the system specifications for the game, which launches alongside the Kaos Studios-developed PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions on 11th March.
